As a visitor to our website we extend a warm welcome to you. If you are considering membership of this wonderful fraternity then we hope you find the contents of our website informative and help you in your decision to join us. Freemasonry is the oldest and largest fraternal organizations in the world. Its members share a common goal of helping each other become better men. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics are based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, faith, country, and fraternity. Its roots go back centuries and its members are diverse: high profile leaders, physicians, construction workers, farmers…and maybe you.
Seven Star Lodge was instituted on October 30, 1872 by charter members with W. Bro. T. Sargant as Worshipful Master. That evening the first candidate initiated into Seven Star Lodge was Dr. Robert Samuel Cheffey. Alliston business directories indicate that Dr. Cheffey was one of two doctors who had opened a practice in Alliston by 1869. Bro. R. S. Cheffey’s Master Mason Certificate officially returned to Seven Star Lodge on September 10, 2019, and is on display in the banquet hall.
